The Spring Creek Ruby Mountain Lion's Club in association with Lions in Sight is collecting used prescription eyeglasses, reading glasses, and sunglasses. Please bring any of your used glasses to school and drop them off in the drop-off box in the main office. Thank you for helping provide glasses for others in need.

Spartans! There will be one final blood drive for this year on May 16th in the gym. Elko couldn't take the loss you handed them from our last blood drive so they have challenged us again! Anyone 16 or older can donate. Students who are 16 must have a parent permission form signed and turned in. Forms to sign up for the blood drive can be found in Mrs. Merrill's room V10 or at the front office. Let's get another W over Elko! Come sign up TODAY!

"Communities In Schools - Spartan of the Month this month is sophmore, Lauren Heckman. Congratulations to her & great job on being such an outstanding student here at SCHS! She was nominated by Mrs. Merrill for being a hard working & successful student here at our school. She stays really involved in a lot of extracuticular activities yet always manages to maintain good grades & have good attendance. She is very dedicated to achieving her goals and is very deserving of being recognized! Keep up the great work Lauren!"

RYLIE LUSK—Next Level Spartan! Rylie was a standout at Spring Creek High School. Rylie was part of 4 team state championships in cross country and track. She was the cross-country regional champion and state runner-up in 2016, and her senior year. She also took 3rd place at NXR Southwest Regional Championships. Rylie holds the school record in the 1600 meters and the 3200 meters at SCHS. Among all her accomplishments at SCHS, Rylie graduated with a 4.0 GPA. Rylie continued her running success at Weber State University (2019-2023). While running for Weber State, she was an all-conference Big Sky cross-country runner in 2021. In 2022, Rylie was the Outdoor Track & Field Big Sky Champion in the 10,000-meter run. She was a NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field West Regional 1st Round Qualifier in 10,000 meter run in 2023. At Weber State, she holds the 5th all-time in the 10,000-meter run (outdoor), the 6th all-time in the 3,000-meter run (indoor), the 7th all-time in the 5,000-meter run (outdoor), and the 9th all-time in the 5,000-meter run (indoor). Rylie graduated from Weber State with a 3.99 GPA and a BS in Psychology. Rylie has transferred to Syracuse University to finish her remaining eligibility and purse an MA in Marriage and Family Therapy. Rylie was 2023 cross-country All-Region for the NCAA Division I Northeast Regional Championships and was a NCAA Division I National Qualifier. GBC CTE Open House: Happening Tomorrow!

The Nevada School Climate/Social Emotional Learning Survey (NV-SCSEL) is used to gather student feedback about their experiences at school. The NV-SCSEL surveys are administered to students in grade 5 and up throughout the state of Nevada during the fall of each school year. The NV-SCSEL surveys measure students’ perceptions of key aspects of school climate, including physical and emotional safety, relationships, and cultural and linguistic competence, as well as students’ social and emotional competencies. The survey is an opportunity for students to anonymously share their experiences of their school’s climate with their school, school district, and NDE. To learn more about the survey, visit nevadaschoolclimate.org. Elko County School District will be administering the survey to students (5th -12th grade) between November 20th and December 14th , 2023.
