Wolverine Athletics

Participation in team and individual sports not only promotes a feeling of family and belonging, but it allows students to develop themselves physically and emotionally. Students gain strength and coordination, learn healthy habits, and develop leadership skills while learning the art of good sportsmanship and fair play.

Eligibility

We expect student athletes to represent WWHS, their families, and our larger community well. All student athletes must:

  • prove they are healthy enough to participate in team sports by passing a yearly physical examination;

  • maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA and submit to weekly grade checks;

  • complete ImPACT concussion training prior to beginning any contact sport; and

  • maintain regular attendance in both the classroom and at practice.

As a Wolverine, we win with humility, lose with grace, and do both with dignity.

For more information or clarity regarding these requirements, please read our student eligibility policy or contact our athletics director.

The Pre-Participation forms consist of seven pages.

Students are required to submit page 7 of the Medical Eligibility Form to the school.

All other pages, the Health History Form (available in Spanish), and the Physical Examination Form must remain on file with the student’s medical provider and are not to be submitted to the school.

The healthcare provider should provide detailed information about any current medication, relevant surgeries or medical conditions, and any affirmative responses from the Health History Form on the sports clearance page entitled Medical Eligibility Form. This form will be submitted to the school.

To be clear, the updated form, indicated by the footer date “4/3/2025”, must be used beginning April 8, 2025, for all student-athletes, NO exceptions.
