WELLS — In its first home games of the season, the Wells softball team obliterated Coleville.
The Lady Leopards whipped the Lady Wolves 20-0 in three innings 16-1 through four frames, and sophomore Khloe DelRio and junior Grace Otto each hurled no-hitters.
Game One
Wells crossed 16 runs in the bottom of the first and four in the second.
In the circle, sophomore Khloe DelRio tossed a no-hitter and struck out six and walked two over three innings.
Freshman Stacia Hansen hit 3-for-3 with two doubles, scored three runs and drove in one.
Freshmen Jess Wright (four RBI and two runs), Jitzel Rivas (three runs and two RBI) and Mayte Casas (two RBI and two runs) and junior Andreina Mercado (two RBI and two runs) all batted 2-for-2.
DelRio finished 2-for-3 with a double and a triple, three runs and two RBI.
Freshman Avery Safford was 1-for-1 with a double, drove in two runs and scored one.
Junior Grace Otto (two RBI and two runs) and sophomore Aryanna Rodriguez (two RBI and a run) each closed 1-for-2.
Without a hit, senior Evelyn Walz crossed once.
Game Two
In the second game, the Lady Leopards were consistent in their offensive output with three runs in the first inning, one in the second, five in the third and seven in the fourth.
In the circle, Otto threw Wells’ second no-hitter of the doubleheader and allowed an unearned run with four Ks and a free pass across four frames.
Mercado hit 3-for-4 with a double, two RBI and two runs.
DelRio batted 2-for-2 with a double, scored three runs and drove in one.
Rodriguez went 2-for-3 with a triple, five RBI and crossed twice.
Wright finished 2-for-4, drove in a run and scored another.
Freshman Arabella Martinez closed 1-for-1 with an RBI and a run scored.
Otto hit 1-for-2, and junior Adriana Aguilar batted 1-for-4 and scored two times.
Without a knock, Casas and Rivas scored two runs apiece, Hansen drove in a run and crossed once and Walz added an RBI.
